strawberry supermoon

the kids were playing video games all night
like they were going out of style
the moon looked down from the sky. omniscient
a plastic breeze filled our lungs with particles
as we sipped our strawberry soda
out of paper straws. oh
what a life

super

Super was the moon and animate the trees; the winter winds arose and bled right through my clothes. I was dodging in and out a moment right before your eyes, yet you were tracking down to daydream. Be very kind and stay alert. This is how we may survive.

here.now

Life makes its own meaning day after day. Joseph Campbell knew what people are searching for and it's not the meaning of life. I want the embodied feeling of being alive. The vitality. This is a greater cause. Still I am driven to write the books I was chosen to write for the world.  Lately I feel I am closer to a wholeness of energy, a fullness not unlike tonight's super full moon. I think it may be a payoff for all the obligations I've taken on. It's an interesting experiment but I have to write the books. Nothing compares to how you feel when you do what you were born to do.

random. oct 31

random acts of kindness on halloween...

frighten somebody
if they scare you, thank them
give a kid some candy
protect all black cats!
offer up a pumpkin for sacrifice
candles over electricity
be prepared with a trick
celebrate diy costumes
protect black cats!
be a witch not a b@tch
scream clearly
stay up all night
worship the moon
run endless b-flicks

good night means good wishes

I no longer have the pride of my youth, but I stand tall as ever. I no long carry the false promise of an imaginary future in my head, where all problems have been solved and challenges overcome. I face the rising sun and realize despite its powerful light and growing heat, it has no edges and cannot cut me. We can therefore have a dialogue over our three course meal. Hardship will never be just a memory and the sun has no gender.

good morning  (appetizer)
afternoon  (repast)
good evening  (dessert)

trax

the weekend came
with rain and the grasses fantasy
green

reality was dishes
was rent and quarter
moons and abrasive

the train tracks are so
godddam polished

when the weather clears
i think i will go eat lunch
on them

or paint my nails
or lay my spine out
or straddle them in denim
and ride them

choo choo
like a freak

or follow the vibration
to the end of
the world

like church bells
like prayer

like god was in doing
the thing which
when done

made you smile
shut up and
write

ghost train. revisited

Oh ghost train
what terrors do you hold
as you launch across the landscape
burning in the cold

Oh scarecrow
what terrors have you seen
hung up in a corn field
where the murders been

Oh October
harvest and the moon
colors of the
dying

now I light a candle
remembering the lost

so when they come
to call

in the dark hours
in the frost

see
 them by
their shadows
      playing

in the hall

passages of clouds

I am giving up and giving in to sleep, and then awaken off melatonin with some fight in me for the full moon, stepping outdoors and looking up to her where she is reading clouds, passages of clouds, while I am slipping on my bare feet the black sneaks with the black soles and black laces, after lining them with powder. The clouds are assuaging the moon with great tales of restlessness and woe, and she: delighted, attentive, detached. I am pouring the water over the coffee grounds in slow circles, coming round to myself like i must every night, for when I walk into the world as I must, and raise my eyes to read the same unending jetstream from below, the passing encryption is solved, and the atmospherics release hail and torrents of rain to wash from me my apprehension, my anxiety, my indifference... and all mirage of dissembling.

Journal # 05.04.15

The eye of the moon dimmed the stars and scrutinized the city. The empaths locked in battle with the analysts. Politicians raising funds. Water going scarce. Iron lungs. The next generation of pharmaceuticals would cost a pretty penny, and everyone would pay. The kids endlessly vaping. Girls the boys were draping. Prisoners developing patience in lieu of blueprints for escaping. Time would spill us all out on to the streets. The full moon saw through it all. I stepped out upon the back porch, by the light, where the spiders had their feast at night. The clouds were rushing down into the ground without a sound. I locked my gaze upon the moon. I gave it time to reflect. The clouds were rushing through the yards and toward me. Trying to save the land! I whistled and my cats came zipping, out of nowhere, up the stairs and to safety. I stepped inside as the clouds were billowing upwards to the door. I threw the door into the wall, and whisps of vapors curled out the edges and fell solemnly to ground, unseen. I drew the curtains and said my prayers. My energy was churning and yearning for release. I did not dare step out into the night again. No. Something was off about it all. This full moon did not feel right. Dangerous. I hardly trusted myself. Part of me wanted to Keith Moon my apartment. I wanted to tear the devil to shreds! No. Slow down, kid. A voice of reason filled my ears. Outside the moon was searching and searching the city for life. I was better off alone. Turn off the phone. Let go of recent history. Disperse the probing eye of the moon by candlelight. Call upon any spirits near or far. Help me! Help me make it through this night, intact. Then rewarded be, with a key, cut to the lock upon my heart, exact.

cryptic

i'm gonna see ya
super moon
through a reflection
in the dish
ran away with
the spoon

i'm gonna tell ya
super moon
all my troubles

then as you look out
upon the full earth
tonight

giving us
all your light
super sweet moon

i'm gonna grab that dish
ran away
with the spoon

i'm gonna hold her
in both hands

i'm gonna walk
from my home
out into undiscovered
lands

i'm gonna face you
out in the open
under some awestruck
constellation

i'm gonna look up direct
my camera eyes
gonna aperture wide
to receive your blessed offering
super moon

and the dish
become a symbol
vibrates like a cymbal
i hold her high
to the sky

rising up
on my toes
my shoes sunk now
into earth
all my cares
left behind

my arms stretch up
until pulled
magnetically now

the symbol (was a dish)
glowing now
absorbing

im shaking
salty drops
burgeoning up
from my skin

pale in the night
my fingers wrapped tight
around archetypal confluence

this
our unitive
alchemical unraveling

then all of your super
full loving free lightness
of being

drops like sundrops!
upon all our oceans!
our forests!
our seas!
our trees!

to the delight of
an awestruck sky
oh my!

oh my
i am high
floating above ground
rising to the sound
of the symbol
full of light

and then
without warning
i become more than me

i become
of the skies!
of the seas!
of the trees!

my eyes
become saucerful
secrets

moon sediment
covers my sense
of sight

no longer needed

reflecting
all that you gave me
now all that i
know

of future lives past
and presence so still

i dream of a valley
i dream of free will
i live in a dream
super moon she
created

i find love for all people
i once hated

i am left
a symbol
a conduit
a codified prayer

you made of me
super moon some
channeling mystic

i am elated
i am cryptic

memory. untitled

i do remember
loving you
your every strand
unique

how i comb
the deep striations
of our whorling time
we shared

lucky me
and lucky you
enveloped in an unjust world

in our all-stars
walking streets
toenails breaking
stride

in our galaxy groove
we move
some masterpiece
outside the Louvre

tossing snowballs
dear Chicago
winters coldest hell
on earth

laughing through the
blizzard of our monetary
fails
some trickle down to
naught

down Division Street
complete
happy getting
what we
got

tale of me
tailing you
comet scattered bits of light

in my blue jeans
modern match girl
picking up your bits of light
making our
mosaic

clear as glass that's not been
stained
brilliant as
one single night

candlelight
i'm after you
the two of us
i know
you knew

shadows
and the cat

the blizzards wake
a code of silence
staring in our
eyes

oh holy nights of Mazzy
Star and magnum bottles
taste your
tongue

its over now
those days are done
your hands in my back pockets
while i sung

caressing
waves of whispers
flooding fields of broken pavement
paradise

street art. 'comet' -photo by k

i dream of autumn colors
open skies
midwestern
eyes

before the pages
written
read

sharing all our bits of light
the comet tail
our nights in bed

getting what we
get

i proselytize the burning moon
replete in dark sky formals

eclipse us now
and cancel out
our every last
regret

horror flashes (insequential)

Asleep in bed
i heard a sound
no one else
around...

butterfly wings 4 lashes
raised my beating
head

seeing things
and images
rolled over
from my dreams
spilling
amber plasticine

tall summer
iced tea mom once
brought with lemons
knockin' around
in summer sun in
cubes

new Hampshire forest lake
spill over this lonesome
darkened
ache

my eyes rounded egg white
searched the room
my head suspended
by butterflies beating
heart below

all was left of fire
ashes
    and
no one else
around

wish 4 switchblade
out of
reach
too scared
2 scared for speech

the room
was dark
the shadows
blue

i thought of me
i thought of you

torn material hanging off
a fragment of my mind
open window wide
wide open edge
of darkness heart
of fight or
flight

no one else
around

4 Montoya (response)

May the moon wax away, any tears in your eyes. While the sun melts the wax of the moon, as time flies.
