cold 2 hot

hot to cold you turned so

quickly i wondered what

i did. turns out your turning

cold then hot then cold

was mood seasonal and

by consensus often

inexplicable

possibly a song

Here are the lyrics to a song I am workin on (to be accompanied by my acoustic guitar which I have been neglecting terribly, poor thang)...

"Remember when you thought everything was going well and then it was not, when winter was too cold and summer too hot, another cup of coffee would pull ya through and it did, raised you up like a pup by the lids... some day you gonna be a railroad tie, no one gonna fuck with this guy, some day you can be railroad grade, swimming ona sea of marmalade... some day you gonna be a railroad tie, no one gonna fuck with this guy... some day you can be railroad grade, swimming ona sea of marmalade..."

so i saw somethin last night, like a vision, right
i had to let go of the past and move on. now.
so i am

have a wonderful fabulous fantastic effortless lighthearted brilliant day everyone
love and light

depression weighs a ton

women marching and i was walking
the opposite direction and saw a man
who got an erection and everyone
stood tall

but just for a second

dollar sign stores and lots of whores
boosting from the system
if you had a lot of change and it stayed
the same

got rolled when you swung
and missed them

waking up with a dream in yer head
and you don't know where you are
dizziness come from a
spinning earth

by the minute on an out of tune
secondhand
guitar

bosses looking at their wives
wonderin' who they are

before midnight come
take a stab at the sun
tear ducts gutter and the gentlemen
 shudder

the depression weighs a ton

Journal # 04.03.15

Some kinda reverse osmosis then the water's all gone the tears cycled through you and cannot be collected again like a path once traveled to great heights now overgrown by ferns and hidden and passed by unseen... and only the lucky one who walks slowly enough and dismisses the calls to catch up may find the way to the great heights we all remembered. And only the sun stops and awaits this ascent from the darkness where shade cools the blade of the fern and the shoulder of the one who has stretched off the spine to divine with the fear falling down like a spear to the ground and still.

No one around.

you could be your own nightmare part - ii

Urgent!

There's still time to cop a feel off this felt sense priority. Better knock your socks off and touch down upon the concrete. Circulate energy through your feet. Watch the pavement crack, to the earth's elation.

Feel the heartbeat. Flourishing.

Her people she had to attend. The gods and goddess would show in their own time. The wine would flow, Dionysian ambrosia. The nectar was reserved for all minorities of culture.

Culture wars her rush, psychology her fix.
Anything organic went right into the mix.

The masses needed only a pair of decent reading glasses. The sun would run the blender, and blend it all together. A purer form of condensation than any melting pot could render. The wind would drive the word, across the thousand tongues. Anyone who tried to protest, got an iron lung.

Prayers for rain.

Empowerment via numbers was mathematically guaranteed. Those who had sunken into stupor, very quickly they were freed. Premonition kept her sane. She meditated on the past, and then to the becoming.... not knowing did not worry her. The rain would keep on drumming.

Trudging through to sunrise, beyond the cloudy days.
Uplifted all her people, kissed by new sun rays.
See the children? They are dancing on the shoulder!
The darkness, now behind them, had only brought them closer.

fishing . indoors

A season
A reason
to get out of bed

a number
an order
a substitute
preacher

tossing
the thoughts
in my head

i’m hungry
i’m thirsty
predestined at last

i turn off the radio
deadbolt the doors
up on my toes…

my spirit likes soft light
and shadows
to play

even better if
it rains today

with knees to my chest
i sit barefoot
facing north

and wait for her
before

the sun up
lifts all life

i set the trap
in silence

HOLY DAYS, UNHOLY NIGHTS

(original poem & song)

She had just finished her coffee

she had just finished super-gluing

the iron-on patches to

her black jeans

Shamelessly

when the BBC

reported her city

the night before

The scandalous

yet predictable situations

played out on the streets when

certain dice were cast

Rolled and bounced into

a combination of numbers

when added

together spelled trouble

She could coherently

put herself together for you

on a gray cloud

with a silver-stained lining

Halloween behind the ears

like a cool whip of

winter winds on

the nape of your neck

When someone in any given room

in any given west-side victorian

half-rehabbed three story apartment

had mind to meet

The fullness of her face

the fullness of her hot stare

the depth of her purpose

you can believe

Just like you buy

the street talk on the east side

in a slurpee swishersweet rhetoric

ghetto to the bone

Descended from

the self-made madness

of your home

'BEEN HAD' (AN EFFIN' K PRODUXION)

Today i really felt like a singer-songwriter.
It has been some hard work and alot of fun to get to here.
Although i will always be a novelist at heart...
here is an EFFIN' K PRODUXION

'BEEN HAD'

One time and I knew
I would drive you all mad
The velocity grew
The had had been had

I really got you upset
I made you so mad
When I sank the canoe
The tadpoles were sad

You came up for air
Pulled on my hair
We fought til we swore and
We cared

I'm so glad when it's good
I'm bad when it's bad
The had had been had
When the had had been had

Had had been had had
been had had been
had had been

M PATH

(original poem / love song)

i took the m-path

out of the city, today

i took the blue line

just to see you, okay

i took the m-path

i had to see you, okay

abandoned buildings

electric lights, and rain

i came through tunnels

i surfed the channels

to see, your face

i came through rainbows

out of the city

to find, my place

just to be

by you, so true

chorus:

just 2 see you

just 2 be with you

it’s true

because i love you

i really love you

i do

WHAT THE WIND REMEMBERED (SONG)

Original poetry / lyrics by Katya
Original song / performance by Katya

what the wind remembered

nobody remembered her name or her face
or the pale of her wrists
by the edge of her lace

no one remembered the man or his name
who sunk his axe deep
in the wood
in the yard
in his sleep

only the wind still whispered her name
through the gaps and the floors
through those walls
made of wood

and wrung out the leaves of the trees
just like hands
to remember the others

the other ones who had died
there

two and twenty years before
and twice as long
before then

and twice as long
before then

and twice as long
before then
