make out session with life

we stopped scrolling

and streaming we put away our phones

braved the weather

stepped into our colors

and made out well

at the dance

q butterscotch

they saw the man who attacked them in aisle 6 at Safeway

knee deep in fashion mags

unable to diminish the intrusions by breathing and affirmations

they grounded through the senses

a butterscotch lifesaver

endless

we went to bumble to find bffs. our talks were getting cold. the bffs took our energy and spent it. the sky fills were colorful and platonic which reduced the risk of harm. the water sexy and potable. rainbows appeared and decided to stick around. we wrung our hearts with joy, there being no end

night and day

between night

and day there are

infinite expressions

of light. being nonbinary

is equally intricate

and irrefutable

TRANS.AM

after

years of loneliness

adolescence was a fury

depression

suicidal self-hate

5150 hold

you

finally got your freedom on

the road. cool oil base

floods your system

liquid gold!

existence

no longer

denied!

knock down drag

you were workin several shifts
holding it down. i was lifted hopin
this could hold up. you were
switchin gears then i tried
you and we had a knock down
drag out. the dogs left howling
in the yard. a playful sun hid
behind a cloud. then set the
sky on fire. i. you.
we all come down

despondent at 22

despondent at twenty two
 where to go
what to do

classes had ended she
needed a job. she
broke up with
her

she smoked and walked the streets
feeling ditched

filled out applications until
a market took her in
a waitress

wasn’t tryin to get rich

her best friend moved
away. the rent she
could not pay

is there hope for me?
she asked the sky

happiness came in
little bursts like sugar
out of cloud cover

a sun ray
