i remember you giving me eyes

 outside Chicago your brothers 

your sisters anyone who happened by 

mom pushing meat 

and potatoes. we took sides 

off editorials in the Reader you 

gave me eyes young and in trouble i 

could not see i never wanted to hurt you

but i did  #katyamills 

the give and take

my tired eyes tracked the screen for some intrigue on

the only holiday that had the guts to tell you what to do


i was thankful

for the day off and some time to myself



a film tapped into the part of me

wanted more outta life

 remind me in 2 hours
